Dear Friend of Starflight, Inc.

It is my sincere hope that you find our new webpage full of exciting and interesting details about our helicopters, its crews, and the whole Starflight story.

I have had the distinct privilege of being a part of this program for almost 30 years. We have come from the days of flying military surplus Huey helicopters in a public servant model to now being fully FAA certified part 135 air carriers in state of the art, twin engine, dual pilot MD 900 Explorers.

Our pilots are mostly military trained aviators with thousands of hours flying. They have safely delivered over 8000 patients to facilities where lifesaving procedures and care could be provided.  We are one of less than 5% of the helicopter EMS programs in the country that fly dual pilot cockpit for EVERY leg of every flight.

The medical direction is provided by a pair of local, aggressive, young, emergency medicine trained physicians that both started as EMTs in local EMS systems. They understand what our task is, and sit on local and state committees to help develop and drive the procedures and protocols we work under.

The medical team is fully dedicated to the flight mission and based at the hangar with the aviators and aircraft. We fly with the traditional model of flight nurse/flight paramedic crews.  It is a small team of about 20 people that are internally motivated, highly skilled and well trained. About half of our flight nurses are also paramedics. All are already or are working towards national certifications.

As your friends and neighbors we hope you and your family never have occasion to need our services… but if you do, know that we WILL be the best part of your worst day ever. We are here to serve our community and we take pride in our ability and reputation in doing that beyond expectations.

Best Regards,
Debbie Weaver
Chief Flight Nurse-Retired
